A Kyeemagh four-year-old can start in the right class for their age and grow into the dojo from there.
Kyeemagh is a small, quiet family suburb down on Lady Robinsons Beach, the kind of place where a lot of households are raising young kids. Starting karate early gives a child years to grow into it, one age-appropriate stage at a time, rather than jumping in too soon or too late. We are a full-time Chito-Ryu dojo in Peakhurst, about 9 km away, and a number of Kyeemagh families already train with us each week.
Kyeemagh to our Peakhurst dojo is about 9 km, roughly a 14-minute drive by road for most of the day. It is an easy run to build into the week for a weekday evening or a Saturday class. Classes run Monday through Saturday, so families can find a time that fits around school and the foreshore weekends. The dojo is also a short walk from Mortdale Station if the train works better for you.

New to Karate? Starting from Kyeemagh Is Easy
Almost every child who comes to us from around Kyeemagh Public School is starting karate for the very first time, so a first class is built entirely around beginners. Nothing needs buying beforehand: no uniform, no gear, just something a small child can move in. Our senior instructor team runs new little ones in every week and keeps that first session light and encouraging, so a four or five-year-old finds their feet rather than feeling lost.
Three programs built around age and where each person is at — not one class with a different name on it. Everyone trains at the right level, with the right focus.

Start Them Young in Kyeemagh — First Class Is Free
Most enquiries from Kyeemagh are parents of young children wondering whether their child is ready to start, and usually the answer is that there is a class pitched right for their age. The first class is a normal class, not a sales pitch — your child takes part or watches, you see how the floor actually runs, and you decide from there.
When you are ready, book a free trial and bring them down for a look.
Common questions from families and adults looking for karate training near Kyeemagh.
Four is exactly where our Little Dragons program begins. It is built specifically for ages 4 to 7, using short, fun, age-appropriate activities to build coordination, listening and confidence rather than expecting a small child to train like an older one. Most four-year-olds settle in quickly because the class is pitched at their attention span, not against it.
There is a clear path. Little Dragons runs from 4 to 7, then children step into Kids Karate from 8 to 12, and a dedicated teen program from 13. Each stage builds on the last and is pitched at where a child actually is, so they are always with kids around their own age and ability rather than being held back or pushed too far ahead.
Shy kids are some of the ones who get the most from it. The class is structured and predictable, so a quiet child knows what is coming rather than being put on the spot, and there is no public singling-out. You are welcome to brief us beforehand about anything that helps, and to watch any class — confidence in these kids tends to build quietly, week by week.
Almost nothing — no uniform and no gear to start, just comfortable clothes they can move in and a water bottle. The instructors handle the rest on the day. If your child decides to keep going, we will sort out a uniform then, with no pressure to buy anything before they have even tried it.
